The Boston Report

Last Sunday and Monday, I was in Boston for the planning meeting for the International Catholic Stewardship Conference (ICSC) in October (1-4) of 2006. I'm happy to report that the committee has confirmed that St. Gerard Majella Parish and Rev. Al Winseman from the Faith Practice Division of the Gallup Organization will give two workshops at the 2006 Conference. One will be to about 200 Diocesan directors of Stewardship and Development. It will focus on the Member Engagement Survey, or what we call here our "Parish Precious Blood Test." The second workshop will focus on the Strengths Finder survey which allows individuals to identify the God-given strengths with which each of us was born.
Al will Focus on the research behind these tools for Faith Practice in churches, and I and parishioners who wish to come along on this journey, will have a chance to illustrate from our experience. That's why I hope we can have a whole gang come to Boston. Just encountering us a big friendly group will do more to illustrate the point than a bunch of words!

Thanks for the attention you are giving to our Sacrificial Giving Witness speakers. It's time to commit ourselves once again to each other and to God here in our church community.
